Lee J was a very cool dude, and it is hard to understand the hopelessness that he had to have felt early in the morning of October 27, 2013.  In the days following, there would be an outpouring of support from family and friends, and with that came many stories of similar circumstances endured by other families.  Suicide is not something that we talk about, nor do we discuss the day to day struggles of anxiety, depression and other mental illness that holds us or those that we love back from living the life that we planned.

In early 2014, Lee J's big sister learned about G4V and their mission.  She reached out to G4V Cincinnati Chapter 7 - asking if we could host a benefit, in the hopes of sparing another family the pain and grief that we were just beginning to experience.  Chapter 7 was very new at the time, but they agreed to take a chance on us!

After 6 years, Lee J's Thing has raised more than $30,000 to directly support G4V Cincinnati - providing them with time to heal our Veterans and conduct community outreach programs without worrying about fundraising.
